Architect: Simon+Dhoni Studio

Location: Binjai, North Sumatra

Main Material: RB SHERA Ceiling Strip & Floor Plank

On the outskirts of Binjai, North Sumatra, stands a house that embodies the harmony between local culture and modern lifestyle. Private House Arif Muhammad owned by content creator Arif Muhammad, widely known for his character Mak Beti, not only represents the owner’s personal identity, but also serves as proof that contextual architecture remains relevant in the contemporary era.

Designing a Home that Tells a Story

Designed by Simon+Dhoni Studio, the house was built not just as a place to live, but as a space that tells a story – about who Arif Muhammad is, the values he holds, and the life journey that shaped him. According to Ramadhoni Dwi Payana, principal architect of the studio, the design of the house was directly inspired by Arif’s personality: simple, open and humble.

Malay Culture in a Modern Frame

Taking a modern Malay architectural approach, the design incorporates traditional elements such as gable roofs and wide openings for lighting and air circulation, but in a simpler, cleaner form. Without excessive form exploration, the house feels grounded yet contemporary-relevant to today’s tropical climate and lifestyle.

In the design process, material selection plays a crucial role. For the architectural team, materials are not just about aesthetics or function, but also about how they can reinforce the design narrative. This is where RB SHERA becomes an important part of the house.

✅ Exterior Facade: Natural, Weather Resistant

On the facade, RB SHERA Ceiling Strip Straight Grain Shine Light Oak was used. This material features a natural wood texture that is warm and elegant, yet highly resistant to extreme weather. Thanks to Fybertec technology, it is also termite-resistant, does not warp, and is low-maintenance-ideal for exteriors that still want to look aesthetic while being durable.

✅ Swimming Pool Decking: Safe, Aesthetic, and Comfortable

For the pool area, RB SHERA Floor Plank Color Through was chosen, which is known for its anti-slip surface and water resistance. The texture feels natural, gives the impression of being one with the surrounding nature, and is comfortable to walk on. It also does not require complicated maintenance, making it the perfect solution for active outdoor areas.

RB SHERA: Innovation for Today’s Architecture

As a quality silicate board solution, RB SHERA continues to support the world of Indonesian architecture through innovative products that are able to answer design challenges in tropical climates. Whether for ceilings, floors, walls, roofs, or decorative elements, RB SHERA comes with the strength, aesthetics, and durability needed in today’s buildings.

The construction industry continues to grow at a rapid pace, driven by the demand for stronger, more durable and environmentally friendly building materials. In response to the increasing market demands, RB SHERA introduces the latest innovation in building material technology by presenting FyberTec, a special fiber formula designed to optimize density and flexibility in their products.

FyberTec is a breakthrough in the construction industry that aims to improve several important aspects of the installation and use of building materials, specifically in terms of crack resistance, deflection resistance, and grepes resistance. Let’s take a deeper dive into how this technology can benefit construction professionals and property owners.

1. Crack Resistance in Screwing Process

2. Deflection Resistance in the Installation Process

Installation of building materials often involves complex manipulation and stressing of the material, which can cause deflection or deformation of the product. FyberTec is designed to provide additional strength to the product structure, thereby reducing the possibility of deflection during the installation process. This not only simplifies the installation process, but also ensures a more precise and durable finish.

3. Grepes Resistance in the Cutting Process

Cutting building materials often requires the use of sharp tools that can leave marks or scratches on surfaces. With FyberTec, RB SHERA can provide additional protection against scratches or grazes that may occur during the cutting process. This means their products are not only resistant to external stresses, but also retain their aesthetics and visual beauty.

RB SHERA’s innovation of FyberTec technology marks a step forward in the construction industry, offering construction professionals and property owners a more durable and reliable solution. By emphasizing on crack resistance, deflection resistance, and grepes resistance, products using this technology can add significant value to construction projects, as well as increase customer satisfaction. As a pioneer in the application of the latest innovations, RB SHERA strengthens its position as a trusted partner for the rapidly growing modern construction industry.
